Doi Khuntan National Park
Doi Khuntan National Park covers 255 sq. km on the border of Lampang and Lamphun with a habitat of evergreen and mixed deciduous forests and lowland scrub.
There are 182 confirmed bird species and 10 mammal species as well as many butterfly species. The park offers a hike to the 1,373 m summit of Doi Khuntan, with the trail leading from the railway station - German engineers building the line to Chiang Mai early in the 20th century opened up the area's dense forests. Most hikers take a day to reach the summit, 8.3 km from the station, but a relaxed hike allows an overnight at park bungalows before continuing to the summit. There are 13 bungalows for, officially, six to 20 people each and a camp site, food should be brought along.
